4th Job Systems Breakdown (Activity Points, Traits, Refine & Items)

Hi Friends!  There’s a lot of questions surrounding the addition of 4th Jobs and what it actually brings to the table.  There’s a lot of questions about gear, stats, what the heck are these traits? What in the world is AP I’ve seen on discord.  Here’s your breakdown thread!   A skill breakdown thread will be coming shortly.

1. Activity Point System (Currently Implemented)

When you change into a fourth class, you will be given access to something called “Activity Points” (aka: AP).  It appears on your stat bar directly under your HP & SP bar.  Note: under my character there’s now a 3rd bar.

AP can only be generated and/or recovered by using certain skills that have the ability to recover AP.
Additionally, some skills can recover AP to other players, or even consume another players AP.

Example #1: Dragon Knight’s “Vigor” Consumes 150 AP

2. Expanding Weapon Level & Adding Equipment Levels (Currently Implemented)

Level Weapons are increasing from level 4 (current renewal) -> 5

Equipment will now have a new tier, level 2.

Both of these can be obtained from new dungeon content.

Existing level 4 weapons & equipment that already have upgrades (Refine / Enchants/ Random Options) are to be developed to be upgraded to level 5 weapons, and level 2 equipment.

2.1 Refining Ores (Currently Implemented)

The new systems bring us refining ores for Level 5 Weapons & Level 2 Equipment.  You must craft them using existing ores, new materials and zeny in order to use them.  See the chart below: (Don’t mind the Korean words, they’ll be translated).

The Enriched / High Enriched / High Density series of existing refining ores can be crafted to higher quality refining ores too.

Used for refining level 2 equipment from level 1 to level 10.
Failure will reduce refine rate of equipment by 3.

Used for refining level 2 equipment from level 1 to level 10.
Failure will reduce refine rate of equipment by 1.

Used for refining level 2 equipment that has refine rate is 10 or higher from level 11 to level 15.
Failure will destroy the equipment.

2.2 Refining/Smelting Method (In Progress)

Refining level 5 weapons and level 2 equipment is different from previous versions.
For level 5 weapons, ATK & MATK are increased by 8 per refinement, and P.ATK and S.MATK, which are characteristic stats, are increased by 2.
For level 2 amror, DEF is increased by 120% of the previous smelting DEF increase, and additional attribute stats RES and MRESE are increased by 2.

  • From refine level 1 -> 10 there is no “gear destruction” upon failure regardless of the ore type used.
  • From refine level 11 – > 20 there is no “rate refine reduction” upon failure regardless of the ore type used.
  • “Refine Guarantee” can’t be use on level 5 weapons or level 2 equipment
    • Note: “Blacksmith’s Blessing” can still be used the way it has worked in the past and it will be able to be used up to refine level 14.

3.  Equipment Grade & Grade Enhancement System (In Progress)

A new system applied to level 5 weapons and level 2 armor/equipment.

Equipment grades exist from grades 1 -> 4.
The Smelting / Refining bonus of the armor/weapon is increased based on the smelting level by a %.
For Example:

  • Unclassified +12 Level 5 Weapon Refinement Bonus = ATK +96 / MATK +96
  • Grade 2 Refinement +12 Level 5 Weapon Refinement Bonus = ATK +144 / MATK +144

Additionally, a new rank level will appear on your item depicting what grade your weapon is.

Grade enhancement can be attempted on equipment that has been refined above a certain level.
The success rate of Grade Enhancement depends on the degree of refinement and additional materials.
Note: The penalty for reinforcement failure can be mitigated depending on the quantity of materials.
